Term or Abbreviation | Explanation |

Approve/Approved | The Campus or OR Approver has reviewed the EC and is signing off |

AVPR | Associate Vice President, Research |
Campuus Approvers |
A Role: assigned by the office of Research, to allow for the review and approval of electronic cover sheets. Includes:

CI | Centre/Institute (Senate Approved) |
Complete | Has been fully approved by campus and OR approvers - or - Has been declined by campus or OR approvers |
CS | Cover Sheet |
Decline/Declined | The Approver is not approving the EC |
Delegate | A Role: assigned by a Campus Approver or their Administrator, to allow for temporary or ongoing designated review and approval of EC, in lieu of the Campus Approver doing so |
Delegation | This refers to both the person (delegate) and the time period (delegation period) |
Delegation Period | A temporary or ongoing period of time in which an Approver has set a delegate |
EC | Electronic Cover Sheet |
EC ID or ID | Electronic Cover Sheet ID number, which is auto generated by the system |
OR | Office of Research |
OR Approvers |
A Role: assigned by the OR, to allow for the review and approval of electronic cover sheets.
Includes:

PI Acceptance | Before submission to the Approvers, the intent is for the PI to review procedures and sign off (accept) that they have read and understand and have completed the EC to the best of their knowledge |
Primary Unit | The user’s home academic or administrative support unit |
RA | A Role: Research Administrator (a non-approving OR role) |
Revisions Required | The EC is being returned, because there is an issue to resolve |
URCI | University Research Centre/Institute (total of 8 which are under the VPRI) |
VPRI | Vice-President Research & International |
